What do we know so far?

In the recent past we have conducted studies about quality of life and participation of disabled children within different context. This has generated important statistics about the experiences of children with autism spectrum disorder and children with physical impairments. Comparisons were also made with the experiences of non-disabled children.

With our previous studies we were able to identify gaps in the scientific knowledge about this subject, which led us to conclude that we needed a larger project that would include the experiences of children with other types of impairments. We gradually also understood that we need to make more efforts to understand the reasons behind disabled children’s experiences in terms of their life quality and opportunities to be included in society.
